The Story

In Istanbul, he started to collaborate with renowned fragrance companies locally. He worked as an exporter of Fine Fragrances for many years. Later in 2015 he became AJMAL’s distributor in Turkey. In 2018 he became M.INT Parfums’ distributor as well. He worked with luxurious boutiques and department stores such as BEYMEN and HARVEY NICHOLS.

ALGHABRA PARFUMS BRAND had the opportunity to launch a special niche collection of fragrances as a tribute to the Old City Damascus and its NOSE ABU AL KHAIR ALGHABRA. The collection No.1 which called “Poetic Scents Of Damascus” has 5 different, long-lasting & unique perfumes. It was desired to make a collection with imagination & inspiration from the Old City mixed with contemporary notes which serves the consumers of nowadays. All the names of the fragrances were inspired by Damascus and the love of nature. The origin of the idea is Damascene made by Turkish hands.

The idea of having an unconventional box of the brand was brilliant! Theme colors were Silver & Black Matte of the best materials. We worked with a modest yet very talented artist, his name is Fatih Başar and a great designer Mark J.Meier. We collaborated and worked together hand in hand on the whole concept to create a piece of art product. On the side of the five boxes of the fragrances, we created a painting of photo collage of Old Damascus including a portrait of the NOSE’s old shop at the corner. Each part of the painting was drawn intentionally because it meant something emotional to the creator.

By only looking at ALGHABRA Parfums’ boxes you could imply the story behind it. Such detailed painting was not drawn randomly. Every place and corner in that painting was an aromtaic memory to the brand creator. The first part starts with a portait to his father and his antique perfume shop, beside the vintage windows of the Damascene Arabic Houses. The second part is a glance at Souq Al-Bizuriyyah and the wooden Damascene balconies along with a jasmine tree. The third part is an image inside a typical Arabic House. The black & white stones of the houses along with the famous fountain. The Fourth and Fifth parts are a resmeblence of Umayyad Mosque and Al-Hamidiyah Souq’s entrance & Inns. It is a terrific artistic gift for your home library.
